Root Canal Treatment
In the past, a tooth that had been severely compromised would have been extracted, since there were no alternatives. Preserving your natural teeth is important for you to eat and speak efficiently, and to maintain your appearance. But if a cavity is left untreated, or a tooth has a crack or other damage, bacteria can reach the pulp at the center of the tooth. This pulp contains the nerves and blood vessels that keep your tooth healthy, however the structure of the tooth can be saved if the pulp is removed. Keeping your tooth means keeping your jaw bone strong and avoiding the need for dental work such as implants or bridges.
During your root canal treatment, our dentist, Dr. David Edlund will carefully remove the infected pulp, clean the chamber and replace the pulp with a medicated material. You can talk with the dentist about our L-PRF therapy, a process by which we use your own blood cells to help the healing process. When we are finished, we can create a porcelain crown which will protect your tooth from further damage and allow you to return to your normal activities. If you have a tooth that needs some attention, please call our office at 303-988-3800 and plan your visit.
